TECS is a very successful company, and the need for a web presence has not been a requirement of the current business model. New customers have been acquired via recommendations and references from our current client base. The current economic conditions have resulted in the loss of a number of high revenue customers, and these loses have made company management aware that pursuing some kind of Web activity would be a prudent move. The purpose of this site is three fold.
This site will develop over time in two phases. Part 1 of the plan will bring an informational site on-line with current customers being able to submit tech support or customer service questions via the Web, hopefully saving both them and TECS time and money. When the time is right, the ultimate plan is to develop an eCommerce site allowing full electronic ordering of our product line, along with a searchable knowledge base that our customers could use to fix some of their problems, on their own. This site is designed for two audiences, our current customers and potential new customers. The current customer base consists of two groups, small business and home computer users. The small business client is a business located in Macomb or Oakland county. The lines of business of these companies is quite varied, and includes home builders, mortgage bankers, manufacturing companies, lawyers, and doctors. TECS does have one requirement when qualifying a customer. Their use of information technology cannot be mission critical. Many of our clients also have us handle their home computer needs. Our second customer is the average home computer use who has a problem and needs an inexpensive source of solutions without taking the PC to the big box retailer. This site is also designed to support potential customers, again small business who have non critical uses of Information Technology, and the average home computer user.
